Fancy a sauna? Head to Helsinki airport

Finnair will open a new premium lounge at Helsinki airport in July, complete with sauna facilities.

The new 407 sqm lounge – open to Platinum and Gold Finnair Plus members, and Oneworld top tier customers – will feature private shower suites with forest berry shampoos, shower gels and lotions, as well as Finnish sauna.

The facility is located close to gate 36 in the non-Schengen area of the airport, and will offer seating for up to 122 guest, with features including the iconic ‘Tulip and Womb’ chairs by the late Finnish American architect and designer Eero Saarinen.

Business class passengers who are not Platinum or Gold members of the Finnair Plus scheme (or the equivalent tiers within the Oneworld programme), will continue to use the carrier’s existing lounge next to the new space, although they will have access to the new shower and sauna facilities.
